The Anne Arundel County Department of Health will provide free testing for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, on National HIV Testing Day, Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Free HIV testing and counseling services will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Glen Burnie Health Center, 416 A Street, S.W., in Glen Burnie. Appointments are not necessary, but individuals can call 410-222-6633 if they prefer to schedule an appointment.
The Department’s HIV prevention program encourages HIV testing for anyone who has ever shared needles, syringes or drug paraphernalia; had a sexually transmitted infection or sex with someone who had an STI; or had unprotected sex with a person who had unprotected sex with others.
All pregnant women should have HIV testing as part of their medical care.
