Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa

Merry Christmas my dear friends, I hope all your wishes are fulfilled this holiday season! This is such a wonderful time of the year. Although it is good to give throughout the year, I don’t know... it seems like it is much more expected during this time of the year. So please share your good fortune with others who aren’t as fortunate by donating your time or money to a food bank or a toy drive.

Following that, I have a story to tell, that was sent to me by a friend and I want to share with you. It is about a boy name Dimitri Reeves, who is a very talented singer and dancer. This young man  recently gave his time and volunteered to perform for the children at the Kennedy Krieger Institute for their Christmas party. These are children with physical, emotional and medical issues. He did a complete show for them and didn't want a dime.

Some of you might be familiar with this Dimitri from social events you have attended or maybe you’ve seen him while sitting at a red light in Baltimore where he has literally stopped traffic while performing at intersections. What you probably don’t know is that both his parents are sick and he performs throughout Baltimore and takes any donations that are put in the hat to help his parents. Dimitri Reeves is a very good dancer and singer and he is a recording artist, who has not gotten his big break yet. His stage presence is matched only by his drive to make the next performance better. “He has spent countless hours learning and developing routines to the point of crisp precision that makes a presentation that just has to be seen and always worth the price of admission,” stated a fan. I understand the legendary Vaughan Mason, best known for his million selling hit, “Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll” has chosen to be his manager. Well, chosen to be and actually being a manager are two different things. “Dimitri’s CD is a collection of pop and R&B songs that will make a club or your event rock!” says another friend. So my word for you is, if you hear of, or see this young man perform, throw out a couple of dollars or buy a ticket to support him, and he can continue to help his parents.

There are a couple of Christmas parties coming up I think you should put on your calendar. One is going to be at the Maceo’s Lounge on Saturday, December 22. It is a food drive too, so pack a bag of can goods and non-perishable foods to take with you. There is never a cover charge at Maceo’s and the kitchen is always open. For more information, call 410-523-3117. The party starts at 4 p.m.

Another Christmas party will be at the Bleu Room located at Security Blvd. and Colonial Rd, from 5-9 p.m.  on Friday, December 21. You bring your own food, alcohol and setups and The Fantastic Four & Carlos Hutchins will provide the live entertainment by the Panama Band. If you decide not to bring food, they will have a food vendor on site. For ticket information, call 443-963-5711. Tell them “Rambling Rose” told you.

Enjoy your holidays! If you need, call me at 410-833-9474 or email me at 410-833-9474.

UNTIL THE NEXT TIME, I’M MUSICALLY YOURS.
