When I think New York City, I think of a city of big dreams; the home of Hip-Hop, Time Square, MTV, The Yankees and Frank Sinatra. When I think Baltimore, I think Carl Ripken, The Ravens, the Inner Harbor, Dru Hill and now— Indie Artist JSoul aka “Black Sinatra!”
JSoul has a passion for making good music and he wants to share his sound. “I make music, and I am pretty good at it. It will change someone’s world like it changed mine,” JSoul said. “Black Sinatra” is the second indie release from JSoul. The CD features a beautiful compilation of amazing song writing and great production values by Baltimore based artist JSoul. The album features performances by Eric Roberson, Julie Dexter, The Floacist, Carol Riddick and others.
The lead single “Tell Me,” is a duet with Carol Riddick. It is a nice smooth groove that is sure to get some attention. The ultimate track “Potential,” is what you would call the soundtrack for a guy who is trying to get the attention of a young lady. It features Eric Roberson and Substantial. It is a hot dance track with great vocal production. With the 16 bars from Substantial, it should be on repeat on your MP3 player! You measure a CD by the slow jams! JSoul delivers with the track “Closer,” featuring The Floacist and Julie Dexter; the vibe on this song instantly puts you in chill mode! Keep your heads ringing, with the song “It's That Love,” just makes you want to get in the car and drive, relax or zone out. The songs were written by JSoul, and you can feel his passion in his lyrics. These are stories that he brings to life for the listener to enjoy over and over. In my opinion, there is nothing commercial here— just good old fashioned Soul Music!
For all those in the Delaware, Maryland and Virginia area, do yourself a favor and support local artists like JSoul by purchasing their music. When the music is this good, you have got to show your appreciation! Summer of 2011 is all about “Black Sinatra” aka JSoul. It is definitely worth the money.
