You know summer is on the way when you start to see roadside placards for summer camps popping up next to ads hawking discount carpet and going out of business sales. This high visibility marketing notwithstanding, selecting a safe, affordable summer program requires a bit of legwork between jotting down the phone number and enrolling your child.

Though the school year 2011/2012 is quickly drawing to a close, it’s not too late to form a study group. In fact as high school and college students prepare for end of year exams, studying with classmates could be an excellent way to gain better understanding of earlier lessons or improve critical skills just in time to ace the final.

The clocks have been moved ahead to daylight savings time, a sure sign summer recess is just around the corner.
