Item number one: the play “Smokey Joe’s Café,” which was supposed to end its run at the Arena Playhouse on September 30, will run for two more shows: Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6 at 8:00 p.m. Sorry, no matinee show on Sunday, October 7.

Surely members of The Baltimore Sun editorial board must be jesting. Recently, in one of their editorials— which seem to inch farther to the left with each edition of the paper— those editors took on the matter of the Emmitt Burns-Brendon Ayanbadejo-Chris Kluwe controversy.
As I write this column, I’m suffering from a terrific headache. This is no sinus headache or migraine for a headache suffered from any known illness. This headache is courtesy of me pounding my head repeatedly on my desk.
