Re: No Excuses-A Guide Out of Poverty

The African American community is in financial crisis. The unemployment rate among blacks is 16 percent and the black poverty rate has jumped from 25 percent in 2009 to 27 percent in 2011— the highest rate in the nation among all racial groups.

During President Obama’s current trip through several nations in the Pacific Rim, he has emphasized that as this country winds down two extremely costly wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it will turn more of its attention to other parts of Asia. There has been growing concern in Washington, D.C. about the projection of Chinese economic and diplomatic power around the world.

The sex abuse scandal at Penn State University, which was previously noted for running a relatively reputable big time sports program is shocking to say the least. According to reports, an assistant Coach, Jerry Sandusky allegedly molested several young boys, one of whom was raped in a university shower as a football assistant watched the act.
