Hello to all of you, Honey Child! We got a hell-la-va weekend. Everybody is celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday and they should. This is an exciting weekend with parades, shows, breakfasts and special events. I love it.

Sandra Martin, CEO of Marleigh Realty and Trust Promotions LLC will be the host of a Live Entertainment Brunch on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring live local and natural entertainment of Gospel, Jazz, Blues and Jazz at the Best Western Hotel Travel (formerly Toby’s Dinner Theater) 5625 O’Donnell Street; hosted by Comedian “Howard G.” Vendors are welcome. The Reginald F. Lewis Museum will showcase the 150th anniversary of Maryland Emancipation and the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. These milestones underscore their MLK Birthday Weekend Celebration. With a theme of service, the museum commemorates Dr. King with music, performances, lectures, and more January 18-20.

The city is sponsoring the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade featuring regional marching bands, color guards, steppers, equestrian units, dance squads, civic organizations, and of course floats. The parade steps off on Monday, January 20th starting at 12 noon at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Eutaw Street, continuing south on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. I will see you there.
