HBCU Round-Up:MEAC Announces Weekly Tennis Honors

Morgan State freshman Ondrej Labik was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Bethune-Cookman junior Alejandra Vidal was named Women’s Tennis Player of the Week.
Labik (5-9, Fr., Czech Republic) posted both a singles win and a doubles victory against Hofstra; his No. 3 singles victory came in straight sets, 7-6 (10-4), 7-6 (10-4) against the Pride’s Coco Haener, and he teamed with Jeremy Fields to pick up the No. 1 doubles win, 6-2.
Vidal (5-6, Jr., Maracaibo, Venezuela) picked up singles wins over Georgia Southern and Kennesaw State this past week. She defeated Georgia Southern’s Mariana Ranzahuer 6-2, 6-2 before besting Kennesaw State’s Kennedy Craig 6-3, 0-6, 6-2 to help Bethune-Cookman pick up the victory. She also won both of her doubles matches for the week, with two different partners.
