Strathmore hosts three art exhibitions. “Perspective” features work by two, accomplished Washington DC area artists, Jack Boul and Jean Hiron; “89th Annual Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature” is a juried exhibition that celebrates the rich tradition of miniature art; and Ralston Cyrus continues his thought-provoking perspective in “A Decisive War”—an intimate reflection about internal conflict through portraiture.

Artworks on view beginning November 19th through January 7th

(NORTH BETHESDA, MD)—From Saturday, November 19, 2022, through January 7, 2023, Strathmore hosts three art exhibitions. “Perspective” features work by two, accomplished Washington DC area artists, Jack Boul and Jean Hiron; “89th Annual Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature” is a juried exhibition that celebrates the rich tradition of miniature art; and Ralston Cyrus continues his thought-provoking perspective in “A Decisive War”—an intimate reflection about the internal conflict through portraiture.

“It’s always an honor to present artists who challenge our senses and encourage us to think critically about our world,” said Lesley Morris, director of Mansion and Galleries at Strathmore. “It’s also the time of year that many of us celebrate storied traditions, and we look forward to welcoming our neighbors to one of our favorite, long-standing exhibitions—Fine Art in Miniature.”

EXHIBITION: PERSPECTIVE- JACK BOUL, JEAN HIRONS

LOCATION – First Floor Galleries, Mansion at Strathmore

For 70 years, Jack Boul has been one of the premiere artists in the Washington, DC area, employing his exceptional talents in both painting and monotype printmaking. Jean Hirons, a Master Circle Member of the International Association of Pastel Societies, exhibits her internationally collected pastel paintings, including landscapes and botanicals.

EXHIBITION: THE 89TH ANNUAL EXHIBITION OF FINE ART IN MINIATURE

LOCATION – Gudelsky Gallery Suite, Mansion at Strathmore

The Miniatures Painters, Sculptors, and Gravers Society of Washington, DC celebrate the tradition of miniature artwork in this annual exhibition featuring artists from around the world. Artists create more than 650 portraits, table displays, and landscapes ranging in size from postcards to postage stamps. The mini masterpieces are juried and receive awards for excellence in several categories.

EXHIBITION: A DECISIVE WAR

LOCATION – Invitational Gallery, Mansion at Strathmore

Ralston Cyrus continues his series of introspective portraits and figures reflecting the artist’s inner dealings with chaos, polarities of truth, and void. Each piece’s composition represents his personal longing for the freedom of resolution, virtue, and clarity.
