BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men’s track and field squad closed out its season at the 2022 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Outdoor Track and Field on a rainy Saturday afternoon from the BSU Track and Field Complex.

The Bulldogs finished fifth of six teams, scoring 69 points. Virginia State took the top spot with 190 points while Johnson C. Smith and Livingstone rounded out the too-3 finishes with 116 and 99 points, respectively.

Notable Highlights
- Kenny Amaya (Bladensburg, MD) grabbed silver in the discus with a throw of 45.65m.
- Eric Thomas-Talley (Richmond, VA) took home a silver medal in the 5000m with a finishing time of 16:33.44.
- Shane Massey (Lewes, DE) placed fourth in the 800m race with a time of 1:59.26.
- Alonzo Fluellen (Phenix City, MD) finished sixth overall in the discus throw (41.89m). He tabbed fifth in the javelin with a mark of 38.23m.
- Ratez McLaurin (Waldorf, MD) placed sixth overall in the triple jump (12.70m).
- The Bulldogs 4x400m relay team placed fourth with a time of 3:28.80.
