CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bowie State women’s basketball sophomore forward Saniha Jackson was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after her efforts last week.

Jackson totaled 26 points, 15 rebounds, and two steals. In the 64-54 win over St. Augustine’s

CIAA women’s basketball weekly honors are determined weekly and announced on Tuesdays throughout the regular season.

Jackson totaled 26 points, 15 rebounds, and two steals. In the 64-54 win over St. Augustine’s, the Ellicott City, MD native registered her first double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds, both numbers season-highs for the sophomore. The five-foot-10 forward also had two steals against the Lady Falcons. Against Claflin, Jackson finished with 10 points and five boards.

The accolade is Jackson’s second of the season.
