LIV GOLF DC PLAYER PREVIEWS

Q. D.C. is the next event on the LIV docket.  How much anticipation do you have headed to Trump National D.C.?

BROOKS KOEPKA:  Yeah, it’ll be fun.  It’s going to be a good golf course in good shape.  All of Trump’s golf courses are phenomenal and fun to play, and I think they’re also quite tough, too.  I play tough golf courses quite well.  It’ll be a fun place to play, a good atmosphere, and a big city, so hopefully, we’ve got a bunch of fans and a bunch of support out there.  I’m looking forward to it.

Brooks Koepka

Trump National is a big course, playing 7,700 yards.  Have you been on it, and if so, what do you remember about it?

BROOKS KOEPKA:  I have not been there.  I’ve heard about it.  I know when I played with Trump a couple of months ago, maybe two months ago, three months ago, whatever it was, we were talking about it, and he told me I’d love it.  Like you said, big-boy golf course.  It’s going to be long.  I don’t think we’ve really played too many long golf courses yet.  I think they’ve been a lot of thinker golf courses and position golf courses where this might be more of a bomber’s paradise.  It’ll be exciting.

Q. We had huge reception last year at our LIV events in the northeast at Boston and Bedminster.  Do you think we can expect the same from the D.C. area and those fans?

BROOKS KOEPKA:  I think so.  Look, anytime you go up to the northeast, they’re very passionate fans, very loud, and I personally love it.  I love the chirping.  I love the excitement behind everything when things are going well, and then when things are going poor, too, they’re not afraid to let you know.   You get up there in big cities like that, there’s usually some good fan bases, and we love it.  As players we’re excited, so hopefully they can show out.

Q. We’re coming off two big international events in Adelaide and Singapore, obviously Tulsa this week, then we go to PGA Championship, then D.C.  Do you feel like this busy stretch in the schedule is allowing you to play your best golf?

BROOKS KOEPKA:  I don’t know if it’s allowing me to play my best.  I just feel like I’m in a good spot right now.  I’m healthy, finally free to be able to swing it the way I want to.  I don’t even think we’ve hit the busy part of the schedule yet.  Next, I look at the schedule for the next two, two and a half months, and that’s where the busy part is, so I think we’re just in the beginning phases of it. Just trying to find time to rest when you can.  Didn’t play last week at all, didn’t touch a club, and picked it up Monday.  Just trying to utilize as much rest as I can because mentally it’s going to be tiring.

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU – CRUSHERS GC (CAPTAIN)

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU:  Yeah, the busy stretch has been awesome.  I think we’re progressing positively.  My game is.  I think everybody’s game is progressing positively.  You see Brooks has been playing well.  It’s been a nice, condensed time frame for us to really get our games going.

Q. D.C. is the next stop for LIV.  Are you excited to head out to Trump National Golf Club?

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU:  Yeah, I’ve been out there once.  It’s a fantastic property, a great place, the people are great, hospitality is great.  You know when you go to a place like that, you’re going to get great service, so I’m looking forward to it.

Q. It seems like a course that’s really well suited to your game.  Are you excited about that?

BRYSON DECHAMBEAU:  Yeah, absolutely.  It’s a big golf course, and I like big golf courses.

DUSTIN JOHNSON – 4ACES GC (CAPTAIN)

Q. Do you feel like this busy stretch is allowing you to play your best golf?

DUSTIN JOHNSON:
Yeah, I feel like obviously I’ve gotten off to not the best start, but I feel like the game is starting to really come around and I’m starting to see a lot of good things.  I’m playing a lot better than my results or scores are.

So yeah, I’m looking forward to — I’ve got a nice three-week stretch here, Tulsa, this week, and then PGA next week, and then D.C.

Yeah, I feel like obviously it’s a really nice time to start playing well.

Q. D.C. is the next stop for LIV, and on paper, Trump National Golf Club is a great fit for your game.  Does that make you excited to head to the next event?

DUSTIN JOHNSON:  Yeah, I’ve never played Trump D.C., but I’m looking forward to it.  I like all his golf courses, so I would imagine I’m going to like this one.  He does a fantastic job with the facilities and the courses.  I haven’t played one I don’t like yet, so I’m looking forward to going there and seeing it.  I hear really good things.
