STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Bowie State men’s track and field team ended its season opener at the Seahawk Shootout on a high note on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY. The meet marked the final competition of the 2022-23 portion of the schedule for the Bulldogs.
Notable Highlights
· James Jones (Baltimore, MD) ran a time of 1:25.61 in the 600m race for 15th overall.
· Shame Massey (Lewes, DE) posted a finishing time of 2:43.80 in the 1000m race, placing 15th overall.
· Eric Thomas-Talley (Richmond, VA) finished 23rd in the mile run (4:40.71), marking the top time in the CIAA.
· Kareem Kelsick (Upper Marlboro, MD) ran 8.62 in the 60m hurdles for 12th individually, which currently is a fifth best amongst the CIAA.
· The Bulldogs relay team made up of London Diggs (Portsmouth, VA), Massey, Caleb Rose (Morningside, MD) and James placed 12th with a time of 3:33.21 in the 4x400m.
· Joshua Carter (Bowie, MD) tabbed 15th overall in the pole vault, posting a mark of 3.50m, which is a conference second-best.
· In the shot put, Movado Gray (Lanham, MD) threw a mark of 12.82m for 11th place (3rd best in CIAA) while Nasser Ross (Denton, MD) finished 25th (10.21m).

The Bulldogs will return to Ocean Breeze on Jan. 6 for the Wagner Invitational.
