ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University football program has unveiled the game themes for each of this season’s five home games inside Rice-Totten Stadium as well as coordinating a “White Out Road Trip” when the Devils invade Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Home Opener versus Delta State on September 17 will be both Trailblazer and Alumni Weekend as all fans are encouraged to wear red for the 6 p.m. kickoff in a “Red Out” event.

September 24 may not be a home contest but the members of Valley Nation who make the trek to Jackson State should don their MVSU White as the Delta Devils attempt to open SWAC play with a rival game victory over the Blue Bengals.

Coach Dancy’s warriors return to The Delta on October 8 for another Magnolia State matchup with Alcorn at 6 o’clock where the university will host a “Young Alumni Party” as we place special emphasis on the graduates who are returning to their alma mater within five years of graduating. Fans are asked to wear green for a “Green Out”.

Homecoming lands on October 22 this year opposite the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and will begin at 3 p.m. central time.

A date has yet to be determined for the showdown with Alabama A&M but it will ultimately fall somewhere between Thursday, November 3, and Saturday, November 5. Gray will be the color of the day as Valley State will don its gray uniforms while spectators are advised to do the same. The game will be a combination of High School Day and Greek Night as future students get to be entertained by the various Greek fraternities and sororities who will show off their chapters.

The fifth and final home tilt is Senior Day against Prairie View A&M on November 19 with another “Green Out” on the docket. The theme will center around the surrounding communities of the Mississippi Delta including Itta Bena and Greenwood for “Community Day” as well as showing all MVSU faculty/staff members some love as “Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day”.
