PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — Three members of the 2021-22 University of Maryland Eastern Shore bowling squad picked up one final honor this week as they received National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors, while the team also received an honor.

They included: Gabriella Ochoa Hubbard (Nogales Sonora, Mexico) a rising junior majoring in Exercise Science, Elizabeth Ross (Schenectady, New York) a rising senior Aviation Science major and Paulina Torres (Ponce, Puerto Rico) who was a graduate student majoring in general studies.
The Hawks posted a team GPA of 3.430, which also saw the entire squad recognized by the organization.
The NTCA recognizes NCAA bowling teams that excel academically each year. Programs must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic school year and be a current member of the NTCA. 52 bowling programs achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher with the list below.
The NTCA also recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom throughout the academic year. This year there are 397 honorees, representing NCAA bowling programs at 67 schools. A student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year to qualify for this award. The National Tenpin Coaches Association is privileged to recognize outstanding academic achievement by our student-athletes.
