Lincoln University Director of Athletics and Recreational Services Harry Stinson III has announced his resignation, effective September 19, 2022.

Stinson has accepted the Deputy Athletic Director & Chief Operating Officer position at the University of Delaware. Head Football Coach Josh Dean has accepted the responsibility of serving as the Interim Athletic Director until the search for a permanent replacement is conducted.
“It is a bittersweet moment to depart Lincoln,” said Stinson about his departure. “I’m proud of the accomplishments we have done thus far and the championship culture we have built at Lincoln. I want to thank Dr. Brenda A. Allen for all you have done for me personally and professionally. We truly laid the foundation for a bright future at Lincoln. I would also like to thank the amazing athletic department staff and coaches. I will miss you all and thank you for the success we have been able to build together. To our amazing student athletes and alumni, thank you for raising the banner for Lincoln and allowing me to be your AD. I am forever a Lion and look forward to many championships for many years to come.”
Stinson has been a valued member of the Presidential Cabinet and has been integral in our ongoing efforts to brand the University, expand the presence, visibility, and recognition of our athletic programs and student-athletes, and establish relationships with alumni and community organizations to support the University’s mission.
During his tenure at Lincoln, the athletic department has seen tremendous growth including increasing the athletic operating budget by 20% and the scholarship budget by 30% and rebranding the institution with new colors, updated athletic logo, and marks. Of great significance is that the athletic department’s cumulative GPA soared from 2.76 to 3.02 under his leadership and the establishment of the athletic department’s Leadership Program for student-athletes, which aligns with Lincoln’s strategic theme to build a culture that supports student success.
