ITTABENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University athletics program recognizes football’s Jamison Lindsey and men’s basketball’s Alvin Stredic as the MVSU student-athletes of the week.

Lindsey, a sophomore defensive back from Gulfport, Mississippi, snatched his first two interceptions of his career, returning them 42 yards in the process. He is the second Delta Devil to accomplish the feat this year joining Abdural Lee’s two-pick performance at Alabama State while recording four tackles plus his second career multi-pass breakup contest as well.
Stredic, a junior forward from Bay City, Texas, and an Arkansas-Pine Bluff transfer was Valley’s top scorer in his Delta Devils debut, posting a team-high 14 points on 6-of-9 (66.7%) shooting to go along with grabbing five boards, dishing out a pair of assists, and snagging a steal.
Football attempts to win its second in-a-row when it calls Baton Rouge to face the Southern Jaguars at 2 p.m. on Saturday and men’s basketball will spend the week in Honolulu, Hawaii for the Rainbow Classic with matchups versus Hawaii, Yale, and Eastern Washington on deck.
