NORFOLK, Va. – The Bridgetown, Barbados native, and Norfolk State senior, Shonte Seale has been selected to compete for the senior Barbados national team in advance of the 2023 Caribbean Volleyball Championships that take place July 23-30.

The outside hitter has been named the vice-captain of the Barbados Team with Shakera Hall, a former two-sport athlete (volleyball and track & field) from Saint Augustine’s University, who has been named the team captain.

Seale has played two seasons for the Spartans, appearing in forty-nine matches, and making 33 starts. In her time with the Spartans, she has collected 487 kills, 237 digs, 77 blocks, twenty-seven service aces, and nine assists.

Following the 2022 volleyball season, Seale was one of three Spartans, the most in the MEAC era, to earn post-season all-conference accolades. Seale landed on the All-MEAC second team for her efforts on the court.

In addition to competing on the volleyball team, Seale also competes in the Spartans women’s track & field programs.
