The 2026 Major League Baseball season is officially underway with new $135 million upgrades added to the Baltimore Orioles stadium that has Birdland feeling a little different. After an early ending to the season last year, the Orioles went big and added new features to Oriole Park that are meant to enhance the Baltimore fans’ experiences. The renovations include a new video board, ribbon boards and sound system along with a brand new lounge partnered with the Truist Club that caters to an unimaginable fan experience.

The luxurious club comes with complimentary parking, high end seats behind home plate and opportunities to have batting practice on the field. With the premium club clearly being geared towards wealthier crowds, the Orioles enhanced their menu, from hotdogs and nachos to oysters, crabcake sandwiches and more. The space is engulfed with windows, with a wide variety of seating, that makes watching the orange and black indoors more worthwhile.

“It’s great, huh? The design, the blueprint, the schematics. All the mockups never really showed us the true blessing. We never would have believed it would be this great and beautiful” said executive chef Dan Doyle.

The sound system was also a highly anticipated upgrade after years of feedback from fans being disappointed due to poor sound quality. Now, the stadium has more than 900 speakers that surround the ballpark and makes hearing easier so that fans can catch everything that is being captured. Center field also scored a new 4k video board that is 2.5 times larger than its previous display and allows a more enhanced fan experience.

Bird fans had the opportunity to finally encounter these new upgrades for the 2026 Orioles opening day with a matchup and festivities that revved up the upcoming season. Bird fans did not leave the park disappointed as Baltimore took a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Trever Rogers put on a show, throwing seven scoreless innings and striking out five of his opponents.

Now the Orioles face the new season ahead with a reinstilled feeling of hope as they feel out the new renovations to their home base.
