Baltimore audiences will have the rare opportunity to experience one of classical music’s most compelling young voices when Jeneba Kanneh-Mason makes her Baltimore debut as part of the Shriver Hall Concert Series Discovery Series on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The free concert invites audiences to experience a pianist praised by The Guardian for performing with “poetry and confidence.”
Kanneh-Mason has emerged as a major international talent, first capturing widespread attention with her BBC Proms debut performing Florence Price’s Piano Concerto in One Movement. Her subsequent recording of the work with the Chineke! Orchestra for Decca Classics drew high praise, with The Guardian declaring that “Price could have no more persuasive an advocate.”
Now an exclusive Sony Classical artist, Kanneh-Mason released her debut solo album Fantasie in March 2025 to wide acclaim. Named Classic FM’s Album of the Week and nominated for a prestigious Edison Award, the album showcases what Gramophone described as “enormous technical resources in service of an uncommonly rich and versatile musical imagination.”
Beyond her solo career, Kanneh-Mason is part of one of classical music’s most remarkable families. She and her seven siblings were recently featured on 60 Minutes, offering a national audience an intimate look at the Kanneh-Mason family’s shared musical life, discipline, and joy in performance. The segment highlights the environment that helped nurture a new generation of world-class musicians.
Her Baltimore recital program reflects that same depth and curiosity, spanning Bach’s Partita No. 5, Beethoven’s dramatic “Tempest” Sonata, works by Debussy, and two towering Chopin ballades. The program also centers music by Black American composers William Grant Still and Florence Price, including Price’s Fantasie nègre No. 1, a work especially close to the pianist’s artistic identity.

The Discovery Series concert is free to the public, with a suggested $10 donation, continuing Shriver Hall Concert Series’ long-standing mission to make world-class classical music accessible to the Baltimore community.
