Towson, MD, September 20, 2025 — The 29th Annual Baltimore County African American Cultural Festival (#BCAACFEST) is set to once again bring thousands of people together in the heart of Towson for a free, family-friendly celebration of history, culture, and community. The festival will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Towson Courthouse Patriot Plaza and the surrounding streets, transforming the area into a vibrant space of joy, unity, and empowerment.

This year’s theme, “Inspire, Produce, Preserve”, underscores the vital role African Americans have played in shaping Baltimore County and the nation. It also shines a light on the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers, encouraging intergenerational connections and community pride.

Attendees will find a wide range of engaging experiences designed to educate, inspire, and entertain. Highlights include the Children’s Champion Zone with games and creativity for families; the Education Village featuring student engagement and college/career resources; the Health & Wellness Pavilion offering screenings and advice from health professionals; the Financial Empowerment Zone with tools to build wealth and financial literacy; and the Historical Village highlighting African American history in Baltimore County.

On the music side, the Main Stage will feature performances by legendary R&B group Force M.D.’s, the smooth harmonies of Surface, and hip-hop favorite Chubb Rock. The Gospel Stage will uplift audiences with spirit-filled sets by Tony Winston, Stephen Boyd, Lucinda Moore, and Samar Newsome. Complementing those performances will be the DJ Tent Party Experience, providing nonstop community energy, and cultural showcases that highlight the depth of Baltimore’s creative scene.

Founded in 1996 by Maryland Speaker of the House Adrienne A. Jones, the festival has grown into one of the largest and most anticipated cultural events in the Baltimore-Washington region. Since its inception, the festival has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to Baltimore County students pursuing careers in business, science, technology, and the arts. In addition, county agencies, nonprofits, and community partners will be on-site sharing free resources in education, workforce development, and health.

The festival’s Opening Ceremony will begin at 12:00 p.m. with welcoming remarks from Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski. From there, the day will unfold with national recording artists, local rising stars, and cultural showcases, culminating in a headline performance to close out the celebration at 7:00 p.m.

“The Festival is more than a celebration — it is a movement,” said Kendrick R. Tilghman, President of the Board of Directors. “It honors our past, invests in our youth, and strengthens the bonds of our community.”

As the festival approaches its 30th anniversary milestone, the 2025 celebration promises to be one of the most dynamic yet, offering something meaningful for every generation.
