As Baltimore prepares to welcome thousands of visitors for the 2026 CIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament, the city’s culinary community is taking center court.
The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore (DPOB), Visit Baltimore, and the CIAA Local Organizing Committee have officially launched the fifth annual Black-Owned Restaurant Tour (BORT), running February 21st through March 1st. Timed to coincide with CIAA week, the tour highlights 18 Black-owned restaurants across the city, inviting residents and visitors alike to experience Baltimore’s dynamic food scene beyond the arena.
A Celebration Beyond the Game
While CIAA brings high-energy matchups and packed stands to CFG Arena, BORT ensures that the celebration extends into Baltimore’s neighborhoods and dining rooms. From brunch hotspots and intimate cafés to upscale dining destinations and late-night favorites, this year’s tour reflects the depth and diversity of Black culinary excellence in the city.
The official kickoff takes place Saturday, February 21st at Bar V 2.0, featuring small bites, a DJ, remarks from organizers, and a champagne toast to launch the week. The event sets the tone for what has become one of CIAA week’s most anticipated traditions.
“BORT is more than a food tour,” organizers shared. “It’s an opportunity to intentionally support Black-owned businesses while celebrating the culture, creativity, and entrepreneurship that define Baltimore.”
