“Jazze’s my best friend,” said five-time Grammy nominated Jevon Dewand when talking to me about this new single “10X My Blessings” (Blacksmoke Music Worldwide) from Jevon Dewand and The Trap Starz. “All these guys are super friends. Gaz is a super producer/singer…Blanco (Bennie Julius Amey, III) is a superhero…Isaac, I’ve known him for a while…he is always smiling; I love his energy.”

The “guys” Jevon is referencing are The Trap Starz. Formed by Jevon and Jazze Pha (Phalon Anton Alexander) – the group’s new single is “10X My Blessings.” Aside from being a rapper and singer, Jazze Pha is an iconic producer who has worked with Ciara (“Goodies,”“1, 2 Step”), Snoop Dogg (“Cool-Aid”), Ludacris (“Area Codes”), and Mary J Blige (“Just Fine”). The Trap Starz also include Gospel singer/songwriter Isaac Carree – a four-time BMI Award winner, Gospel’s Gaz Money, and Stellar Award winning Country rapper, singer, songwriter Blanco (2 Chainz “Pretty Girls Like Trap Music”) who is also a music producer (Monica’s “Code Red”) with a Grammy Award, 11 Grammy nominations, five BMI Awards and the recipient of the BMI Presidents Award.

“I let God show me where to go,” Dewand told me when I pointed out what a masterpiece assembly, he has put together with The Trap Starz.

The Atlanta native continued on about his career-journey, “Where you are going, you can’t take everybody. I go with energy and frequency.”

I took that to mean he is moving constantly, if not in music, then in other things, such as his acting and television producing and directing. Jevon Dewand’s credits include directing the 2017 “Dating in Atlanta: The Movie,” as a producer he worked on the television series “Donnie After Dark” in 2016 for four episodes, and as an actor in the 2013 Saints & Sinners, the 2010 film Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming, the 2020 emotional film Hate, and the 2020 thriller film Somebody’s in My House.

“An EP is coming next with four or five recordings,” he added when I asked if the new single, “10X My Blessings,” is from a project. “One (song) features Blanco, a Country superstar. He has been known in Country music for a long time. One (song) is ‘It Came Out of Nowhere’, and there is “Can’t Tell Me What God Can’t Do.’ ‘It Came Out of Nowhere’ is written with Jazze and Mike from 112.”

The “10X My Blessings” single is accompanied by a music video via Mr. Kerry Douglas’ YouTube Channel that has garnered over 930,000 views in just two weeks!

“We have power in struggles,” Jevon pointed out when talking about life challenges and his car accident. “Just like we have power in triumphs…when you know of God.”

Jevon said the group Jevon Dewand and The Trap Starz are, “Just five Black men of God…a miracle…it came out of nowhere. Call us the transformers!”

Jevon is not only a five-time Stellar Award nominated singer/songwriter but a Billboard chart-topper (“Without You”). www.JevonDewandBeyond.com www.BlacksmokeMusic.com
