Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Baltimore African Violet Club is inviting the community to its annual One-Day Spring Sale, offering a vibrant selection of plants and handmade items.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Joppa Grand Market.
After months of careful cultivation during the winter season, club members will showcase a wide variety of African violets, along with other gesneriads—often referred to as the violets’ “cousins.” Shoppers can also browse leaf cuttings, handcrafted ceramic pots, and a range of plant-related items perfect for gardening enthusiasts or those looking for a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift.
The sale not only highlights the beauty of these delicate plants but also reflects the dedication and passion of local growers who have spent the colder months nurturing each bloom.
Those interested in learning more about the event or joining the club can visit the organization’s website at https://baltimoreafricanvioletclub.org/ .
With spring in full swing, the sale offers a perfect opportunity for residents to bring home a touch of color while supporting a local community of plant lovers.
