Stockbridge, Ga. (Apr. 26, 2022) – The Delaware State women’s golf team holds the top spot after the opening round of 2022 HBCU Women’s Collegiate Championship today.

Keyed by four of the top nine opening day individual scorers , the Hornets hold a six-stroke lead over second place North Carolina A&T State after day one of the nine-team championship competition at Eagle’s Landing Country Club.
Delaware State had a combined score of 311 (+23) after the first 18 holes. The Aggies are second at 317. Texas Southern (327), Prairie View A&M (333) and Chicago State (337) round out the top five.
DSU’s Jirada Kluaymaingarm shares the top of the individual leader board with Christyn Carr of NCA&T at 75 (+3) entering Wednesday’s second round.
Anna Ferreyra-Heit and Nattavadee Khunsri are tied for second on the Hornets and tied share third place in the field at 78 (+6), while teammate Taylor Simoneau is tied for eighth at 80 (+8).
