2022 Norfolk State Volleyball Schedule
NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State volleyball team released its 2022 schedule on Friday. The slate features three top-tier tournaments along with three home matches against local opponents as well as 14 matches against MEAC opponents.

The Spartans open the 2022 season on the road at East Carolina for the Pirate Invitational on August 26 & 27. NSU takes on Towson, Furman, and host Pirates over the two days before returning home to Gill Gymnasium to host the Lady Pirates of Hampton on Wednesday, September 7.
“This season’s schedule is the most competitive schedule in the history of the program,” said head coach Kathy Bullock, “It will be used to prepare us to make history in 2022. We believe that his schedule will lead us on the road to our very first MEAC championship. Our vision is to leave no doubt in ’22.”
NSU will return to the road to the Volunteer State for the Rocky Top Classic in Knoxville. The Spartans will take on The Citadel on Sept. 9. The following day, NSU plays against the host Lady Vols and New Hampshire before returning home to take on cross-town rival Old Dominion on Sept. 13.
The final early-season tournament sees the Spartans traveling to Blacksburg for the Virginia Tech Classic. NSU takes on the host Hokies on Sept. 15 before playing either Appalachian State or Western Carolina on Sept. 16.
The Spartans kick off MEAC play on September 23 when they host Maryland Eastern Shore in Gill Gymnasium. NSU splits the next two contests location-wise with a road visit to Delaware State (Sept. 25) and a home match against defending MEAC champion Howard (Sept. 30).
The final non-conference match of the season sees the Royals of Regent play a visit to campus on October 4 before the Spartans return to the MEAC competition.
The rest of the season sees NSU play home contests against South Carolina State (Oct. 14), North Carolina Central (Oct. 16), Delaware State (October 23), Coppin State (Oct. 28), and Morgan State (Oct. 30). The remaining schedule also sees road contests at Coppin State (Oct. 7), Morgan State (Oct. 9), UMES (Oct. 21), South Carolina State (November 4), North Carolina Central (Nov. 6), and Howard (Nov. 11).
The 2022 MEAC Championship takes place Nov. 18-20 with the location still to be announced by the conference office.
