The 4th Annual Billie Holiday Music and Arts Festival Kicks off this weekend!

One of the least talked about gems of Baltimore city is the thriving art and music scene. Throughout the year, Baltimore hosts some of the best live music festivals in the country. This Saturday, The Upton Planning Committee, Pennsylvania Main Street and Brencore Entertainment will present the 4th annual Billie Holiday Music and Arts Festival. According to Wanda Best, the Executive Director of the Upton Planning Committee, The Billie Holiday Festival was started a few years back in conjunction with Billie Holiday’s 100th birthday. Ms Holiday was a proud Baltimore resident and the Festival aims to celebrate her legacy with live music, art, family fun and community initiatives.

This year’s festival will feature an amazing lineup of artists, food vendors, community partnerships and more.

The artist lineup will feature:

  • Faycez U Know featuring Sugar Bear
  • Tamm E. Hunt
  • Lafayette Gilchrist
  • Kevin Howard
  • The Brencore Allstars
  • and more…

In addition to the amazing music lineup, food vendors and hosts, this years festival will also focus on small Black business and entrepreneurship. “This is a community lead by community!” explained Best. “We want to change the narrative of our community and show that our community is thriving and has some amazing assets.” According to Best, the festival is an opportunity for the community to come together and simply have a good time.

The 4th Annual Billie Holiday Music and Arts Festival will occur on October 8, 2022, from 12 pm – 8 pm at the Robert C. Marshall Field, 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217. This family-oriented event will feature locally owned small businesses, community partners, art displays and live music.
