Baltimore, MD — Building financial stability and generational wealth requires more than inspiration; it requires access, tools, and a supportive community. That belief is at the heart of Associated Black Charities, which is launching The Black Progress Lab: The Financial Playbook through its ABC Academy—its first learning opportunity of the year focused on practical, real-world financial empowerment.

Developed in partnership with SECU, this four-week cohort is designed to move beyond financial theory and help participants take real control of their financial futures. The program centers on the fundamentals that matter most for long-term stability and freedom: budgeting and money basics, understanding credit and borrowing, pathways to homeownership, and financial planning for individuals and families.

Too often, these essential building blocks are learned through trial and error rather than structured guidance. The Financial Playbook creates a shared learning space where participants can build knowledge together, ask real questions, and gain tools they can immediately apply in their daily lives. Each session builds on the previous one, reinforcing confidence and momentum week after week.

Sessions will be held Wednesdays from 6:00–7:30 pm, and participants must be able to attend all four weeks to ensure a cohesive and impactful experience. The cohort is open to adults 18 and older, with limited space to foster meaningful engagement and conversation.

For those ready to make smarter financial moves, build wealth with intention, and be part of a community committed to Black progress, The Black Progress Lab: The Financial Playbook offers a timely and powerful opportunity.
