Baltimore native and WNBA star Angel Reese is adding another major milestone to her growing résumé. Netflix, Lionsgate, and 3Arts Entertainment announced today that the two-time WNBA All-Star will join Season 2 of the hit series The Hunting Wives, taking on a co-starring role as a character known as “Trainer Barbie.”

Reese joins an expanded cast that includes newly announced additions Kim Matula, Alex FitzAlan, John Stamos, Dale Dickey, Cam Gigandet, alongside returning cast members Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, George Ferrier, Karen Rodriguez, Hunter Emery, and Branton Box.

Season 2 is currently in production in the United States and will be released exclusively as a Netflix-branded series in nearly all countries where Netflix is available. The new season continues the momentum of a breakout first season that debuted in the U.S. on July 21 and spent five consecutive weeks in Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV list, amassing more than 20 million views—despite its limited initial availability.

Created by Rebecca Cutter and based on the bestselling novel by May Cobb, The Hunting Wives blends mystery, power, and psychological suspense. Cutter returns as creator, showrunner, writer, and executive producer, alongside executive producer Erwin Stoff for 3Arts Entertainment and Cobb. The series is produced by Lionsgate.

According to the Season 2 logline, tensions are high as Sophie and Margo begin the season at odds. However, old secrets and emerging enemies soon force them back into uneasy alliance. As their dangerous games resume, a central question looms: are they the hunters—or the hunted?

For Reese, the role represents a high-profile step into scripted television. Already celebrated for her impact on and off the court, the Baltimore native continues to expand her influence into entertainment, culture, and media—further cementing her status as one of the most dynamic young stars of her generation.

Season 2 of The Hunting Wives will consist of eight episodes and is expected to premiere exclusively on Netflix.
