Baltimore is a city shaped by the people who love it, and few embody that spirit more than Deneir Anderson, the founder of Pete’s Kitchen. What began as a passion for feeding family and friends has grown into a breakfast and brunch concept rooted in legacy, community, and the flavors of home.

Pete’s Kitchen was created in 2023, inspired by Anderson’s desire to build something lasting for his children, grandchildren, and the city that raised her. Growing up in Baltimore, she was always the family cook, the one people called on for holidays, celebrations, and quiet Sundays when a warm plate meant everything. That passion led to his first business, Sweets by Pete, but breakfast was always where his heart lived. The comfort, the connection, the way it starts the day fresh and full of possibility. In 2023, Anderson turned that love into Pete’s Kitchen, a place dedicated to serving meals that feel familiar, soulful, and full of care.

For Anderson, food has always been more than something to eat. It has been a way to gather, to show love, and to bring people together. Growing up in Baltimore taught her that a good meal can comfort, heal, and create moments of connection that stay with people long after they leave the table. This belief shapes every part of Pete’s Kitchen.

A Breakfast Concept Rooted in Baltimore Flavor

Pete’s Kitchen stands out in the city’s dining scene by offering homestyle breakfast and brunch dishes that are completely pork free. Customer favorites like Pete’s Pancake Platter and the Dee Stacked Overload have built a loyal following. Each dish is prepared fresh with intention, reflecting Anderson’s philosophy that food should feel like love on a plate.

The menu also includes options such as vegan overnight oats, steel cut oatmeal, and a Keto Bowl with cage free eggs and a variety of toppings. These choices offer diners flexibility while keeping the soulful identity of Pete’s Kitchen at the center.

Community First, Always

More than anything, Anderson sees Pete’s Kitchen as a reflection of Baltimore itself. Strong, creative, full of flavor, and grounded in community. Whether through providing jobs, catering local events, or simply giving someone a breakfast that reminds them of home, Anderson hopes the business will continue to serve as a source of inspiration and connection.

“I want Pete’s Kitchen to be a place that not only feeds people but inspires them. It is about building something lasting for Baltimore, one bite at a time,” she said.

Looking Toward the Future

Anderson has a clear vision for the next chapter of Pete’s Kitchen. She hopes to grow from a popular local favorite into a full brick and mortar restaurant where people can gather, enjoy great food, and feel at home. She also plans to build a strong team of Baltimore residents who can grow with the business and help shape its future.

Serving Love One Bite at a Time

For Anderson, every plate tells a story. Each dish is prepared with care and intention, guided by the hope that customers feel warmth and comfort with every bite. “I want people to taste the care in every dish,” he says. “Serving love one bite at a time is the heart of everything I do.”
