Respect My Royalty LLC and Respect My Royalty Cares Foundation will host the red carpet premiere of Chosen: Reclaiming Her Time on May 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland. The premiere marks the latest chapter in a multimedia journey that has evolved from book to stage to film.

Based on the best-selling book Chosen: A Lady’s Journey from Called, Crushed, to Crowned, the story has grown into a movement centered on faith, resilience, and reclaiming identity. Following the book’s success, the narrative was adapted into the award-winning Chosen: The Stage Play, which toured multiple states over two years with seven performances—five of them sold out. The filmed version of the stage play later debuted to sold-out audiences at the Kennedy Center and AMC Theaters and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

The new feature film, Chosen: Reclaiming Her Time, dives deeper into themes of spiritual reclamation, healing, and personal restoration. The cinematic adaptation promises to deliver the same emotional intensity that audiences experienced on stage, now elevated through film.

The project is produced by Vernard “Kam” Howard and Nicole Howard, co-founders of Respect My Royalty. Howard, a Brooklyn native, holds a B.A. in American Studies from the State University of New York College, a Master of Arts in Education from Cambridge College, a Master of Divinity from Howard University, and an Honorary Doctorate in Ministry from Virginia Christian Seminary. He is currently completing his second year of a three-year Ph.D. program at Morgan State University.

His professional journey spans ministry, education, and community leadership. He has served as Youth Pastor at multiple AME churches in Houston and Washington, D.C., and currently serves at Kingdom Fellowship AME Church. In education, he has led as Principal of Nia Community Public Charter School and Assistant Principal at Calvin Coolidge, Benjamin Banneker, and Roosevelt High Schools in Washington, D.C. He now serves as Director of Strategy & Logistics at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. A former Democratic candidate for Maryland House of Delegates and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Howard has consistently combined scholarship, activism, and mentorship in his work with young people across the country.

Nicole Howard, an East Coast native, holds a degree in Business Management and an MBA. She currently works for a global firm as a Project Legal Specialist and Executive Assistant. A former First Lady of a historic church, she has supported church initiatives, outreach efforts, and women’s ministry programming. She is also a member of the National Council of Negro Women and Black Girls Vote.

As founder of Respect My Royalty, Nicole Howard has built a platform dedicated to empowering women to reach their full potential. In addition to completing a yearlong book tour, she and her husband led the two-year, multi-state tour of Chosen: The Stage Play. She also co-hosts the “Queen Up!” video podcast, featured on YouTube, iHeartRadio, and Respect My Royalty Streaming TV, continuing the brand’s message of empowerment and spiritual growth.

The May 25 premiere at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland will include red carpet arrivals, media interviews, a cast Q&A, and an exclusive screening. Organizers describe the event as more than a movie premiere—it is a celebration of vision, faith, and the power of reclaiming one’s narrative.
