Baltimore, MD — Today, Create Baltimore teamed up with the Mayor’s  Office of Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (MOACE) to welcome CBS’ Survivor. In celebration of the show’s 50th season, hundreds of fans lined down South Eutaw Street in anticipation of finding the hidden immunity idol. Baltimoreans and many out of town guests were out as early as 3am hoping to find the prized possession.

The Create Baltimore team, which manages the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower have worked for months coordinating the use of the 115-year-old building with the Survivor events team while MOACE has  also worked with that team securing the necessary permits and ensuring a safe and practical  logistics plan was set for the activation.

“It’s great to see this kind of energy and excitement at one of our city’s most iconic landmarks,” said  Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “I’m grateful to MOACE and Create Baltimore for their work to make this  collaboration possible, and their commitment to uplifting our arts community each and every day.”

“We are proud that the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower was selected as Maryland’s home for the Survivor  50 Challenge,” said Create Baltimore CEO, Robyn Murphy. “This moment places one of  Baltimore’s most iconic creative landmarks at the center of a national fan experience and reinforces  what we know to be true — Baltimore is a city where culture, history, and major entertainment  moments come together. Seeing fans show up with this level of excitement reflects the energy and  pride that define our city.”

Survivor season 45 cast member Emily Flippen from Laurel also came out in support of season  50. “It’s awesome to be here today surrounded by so many Survivor fans and so many local  Marylanders that have all come out to support not only Survivor, but local arts here in Maryland,” said Flippen. The turnout has been incredible. Despite the cold, everyone is facing it together and  that’s absolutely awesome!”

Many fans traveled to Baltimore and in some cases are making a tour of it, showing how collaborations like this around arts and culture are true drivers for tourism. “We came from  Elizabeth, New Jersey and went to Delaware yesterday. We were super stoked there and [said] shoot let’s go to Maryland. So here we are in Baltimore! It’s an opportunity of a lifetime,” said super  fan Jacob Savitt.

“Here in Baltimore, we’ve had a great turnout! People are climbing the interior stairs of the building and reaching the idol at the tippy top of the clock tower. For many, it’s been their first time here and  our team is really excited to be here and celebrate the arts community in Baltimore,” said a CBS  representative.

The “Survivor 50 Challenge” calls fans in each of the 50 states to follow clues and figure out where  the immunity idol is hidden. The national, 50-state, 50-idol hunt began on Jan. 30, 2026, and leads

up to the premiere. Fans who find the idol and submit a picture through the digital hub receive a  chance to win a trip for two to the live Survivor 50 season finale in Los Angeles on May 20, 2026.

Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans premieres with a three-hour episode on Wednesday, Feb. 25,  2026, on CBS and Paramount+.

The Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower has been a part of Baltimore’s skyline since 1911 and a beacon for  innovation and the arts since 2007. Originally built by the founder of Bromo Seltzer headache  remedy, it is still home to the original and still-functioning tower clock, the face of which displays the  word BROMO-SELTZER instead of numbers. Under the management of Create Baltimore, the  tower is also home to artist studio space and the Emerson/Maryland Glass Museum which houses  the largest collection of Bromo Seltzer and Maryland Glass bottles in existence. The Museum is on  the 15th floor and is on loan from and curated by Ernest Dimler. Create Baltimore manages the  tower on behalf of the city.

The Bromo Seltzer Tower is located at 21 S. Eutaw Street at Lombard Street on the Westside of  downtown Baltimore and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
